It's nice and quiet...

BUT! Bjork will be performing on Satruday Night Live on Saturday, April 21. Bjork is the musical guest, with Scarlett Johansson as host.

Bjork is still set to release her follow up to Medulla on May 7th, 2007, titled Volta. Apparently Volta will feature spots with Timbaland, Antony Hegarty, Chris Corsano, Mark Bell, just to name a few, as well as "a ten piece female brass section consisting of Icleandic musicians". Which, is pretty rad considering a few of us here were brass players/band nerds in high school. Anyway, this is the tentative cover for Volta, as there have been rumors surrounding supposed anger in the cover and title of the album leaking.

Of Montreal has been playing "karaoke" shows recently. I must say I'm very intrigued and my interest has been fulfilled thanks to Cable & Tweed's mp3's.

My personal favorite, of course, is Andy Lemaster singing INXS' "Need You Tonight". And, what I also really enjoy are all the other voices we hear singing along. Of course, if you were in a car with half the people in that crowd and any of these songs came on they would probably be somewhat embarassed to belt out songs like that. Awesome.

Apparently the set list is as follows (thank you, Stereogum):

Of Montreal's Master Karaoke Playlist
ABBA - "Dancing Queen"
Big Star - "September Gurls"
Boston - "More Than A Feeling"
Buzzcocks - "Ever Fallen In Love"
Cheap Trick - "Surrender"
Clash - "Train in Vain"
David Bowie - "Moonage Daydream"
David Bowie - "Starman"
David Bowie - "Suffragette City"
David Bowie - "Hang On To Yourself"
Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers - "Islands In The Stream"
ELO - "Don't Bring Me Down"
Fleetwood Mac - "Little Lies"
Foreigner - "Hot Blooded"
Gnarls Barkley - "Crazy"
Guided by Voices - "Motor Away"
Guns N Roses - "Sweet Child O' Mine"
INXS - "Need You Tonight"
Journey - "Don't Stop Believin'" (performed by Griffin Walker)
Kinks - "All Day And All Of The Night"
Marvin Gaye - "Let's Get It On"

Pixies - "Here Comes Your Man"
Prince - "Raspberry Beret"
Spinal Tap - "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight"
Steve Miller - "The Joker"

Lastly, it turns out Wilco has had some toys made resembling themselves. Jeff Tweedy is a big UNKL toy collector and when UNKL heard they rung Tweedy up, asked permission to make these cute little lego-man reminiscent toys and boom. The little guys measure in at about two inches and are set to be available for purchase to the public at San Diego's Comic Con. (Again, thank you Stereogum, you are wonderful.)
