January 25, 2008

Two of the writers got married and we opted to take a break from sporadic blogging. There was a bit of Stalin reunion with Furge coming up to be one of my groomsmen, so that was nice.

It's a New Year and seeing as how we're barely a blog, much less a legitimate blog of some kind of repute, we're either scrapping the "Best of 2007" list or waiting another month to process everything. So it could be this weekend. You never know with us, man! Meaning Jenn and I will be driving to the So Many Dynamos show at the Billiken Club tonight, me pitching the idea for a Best of 2007 and arguing about a list, and then getting albums from 2006 confused with 2007. Somewhere in there we'll talk about how we're not going to SXSW, how overrated the new Rilo Kiley album was (Jenn took it back), and food. You get the idea.

Here's a hint, though. Regardless of what the critics have said, The Field's From Here We Go Sublime is NOT on OUR shortlist of the best of 2007. Nor is Jay Z. But MIA, St. Vincent, Les Savy Fav, Battles, Panda Bear, and LCD Soundsystem probably are.
